Shark Bay Tours
The World Heritage Listed Shark Bay is located in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia, around 800 kilometres (500 mi) north of Perth. With 2,200,902-hectare (5,438,550-acre) of beautiful ocean, peninsulas and islands situated on Australia’s westernmost tip and considered one of the world’s most remarkable places; the area attracts quite a lot of interest from visitors.
Within Shark Bay, a number of places and features of interest draw crowds. The Francois Peron National park, the dolphins at Monkey Mia and the huge variety of other wildlife, plant and sea life within the area attract animal and nature lovers the world over. The amazing stromatolites – which are said to be the oldest living organisms on Earth – and the historical shell buildings, attract those with a penchant for the past, while the perfect weather, family-friendly beaches and welcoming hospitality attract those who just want a lovely holiday in one of Australia’s beauty spots.
Of course, these places and features of interest are made even more exciting with the absolutely huge range of activities available at Shark Bay, besides beach activities and swimming. You can encounter dolphins in the wild or take a cruise out to one of the local bays to see the dugongs or humpback whales; snorkel to spot loggerhead turtles and other colourful marine life, or go for a paddleboat or kayak within the calm waters. You can learn about the importance of this amazing place by taking a tour with a local Indigenous guide or meet royalty at Hutt River Province! Then there’s camel rides on the beach, abseiling at Kalbarri Gorge or a game fishing charter – Shark Bay has a little bit of everything!
